According to the decision of the Soviet People's Commissariat, a teaching team was formed by the staff of the Novosibirsk Higher Medical Education Institute and the Tomsk Medical College in Novosibirsk City, and the first class began in the third year of the newly established medical college. During the Patriotic War, teachers and students made contributions to defeating the enemy. Under difficult conditions, continue to train medical personnel, organize hospitals, and professors to carry out consulting work in medical institutions in Novosibirsk and the region. In the following years, the foundation of material technology and laboratory has been strengthened, and new colleges, departments, and courses have emerged. Since 1997, Professor A.V. Efremov, who won the election, has served as the director of the research institute. The re accreditation of the college in 1998 provided a basis for changing its status, and since 1999, the college has been renamed as the Novosibirsk National Medical College. Since 2006, the college has obtained the status of a university and has been renamed as Novosibirsk National Medical University.
